Biodiversity Enhancement.

Invest in the natural world to help combat the biodiversity crisis.

Biodiversity loss is a huge issue. The biodiversity situation in the UK, in particular, is bleak - with the loss of nearly 50% of our natural biodiversity since the industrial revolution. This is a devastating statistic and, it is therefore no surprise, that the UK has a low score for biodiversity intactness, with losses worse than all other G7 nations. Thankfully, most of this loss of biodiversity, wildlife, habitats and green space can be reversed. This is where your organisation can make a difference. Investing in biodiversity projects, either on your own sites or supporting projects across the country, can help to reverse the extensive damage and protect endangered plant and animal species which are so important to balancing our eco-systems.

Onsite enhancement projects.

This project is perfect for organisations, which own land and commercial buildings. The aim of this project is to increase the amount of natural capital and habitats on these sites to compensate for biodiversity previously lost when developing these facilities. With on-site biodiversity enhancement, there are two options which are available, depending on the budget for the project.

  • Option A is a more extensive method. This option incorporates biodiversity measurements to quantify improvements to the area – transforming the biodiversity habitats into measurable units, which allows you to put a percentage figure on enhancement results.

  • Option B has the exact same principles as Option A but it does not include baseline enhancement measurements. Option B is therefore a less expensive form of on-site biodiversity enhancement. However, it does not produce quantifiable results.

The YourPact biodiversity enhancement projects focus primarily on restoring lowland habitats using wildflower and grass species. These species can be used in strips, squares, meadows, borders or in planters to provide an essential food source for pollinators and insects, such as bees and butterflies, as well as shelter for small mammals and birds. Wildflowers can also be incorporated to improve the aesthetics of facilities, adding vibrancy, colour and life to your developments.

Offsite enhancement projects.

As businesses, we all have an impact on biodiversity, both directly and indirectly, through our supply chains, operations, events and transport use. This project provides businesses with the opportunity to enhance UK biodiversity and positively impact on the natural world, even when you may not have your own land or facilities. Your organisation can invest in and sponsor environmentally-friendly plantings on regenerative farms, as close to your location as possible.

The funding is used on local estates and farmland to plant areas of eco-friendly species and mixtures, known as cover & environmental crops. These crops are essential to regenerative farming practices which help to reduce the impact of intensive food production on the climate and the natural environment. YourPact will identify partners and legitimate regenerative farms for you to build a relationship with, within a predetermined radius of your chosen locations. This means that there is full transparency and the opportunity of engagement for employees, stakeholders & investors throughout the process.
